Biography

Alex Dickson is an artist who takes inspiration from places, and architecture. Often representational, as well as abstract, his work is a personal urge to engage and interact with his environment, and concern for balance, composition, and colour. Through drawing, painting, and model-making Alex develops site specific works which respond to place.

Born in 1976, and raised in the Highlands of Scotland,  Alex has degrees in both Geography, and Architecture from Aberdeen University and Robert Gordons University. He has spent the last 25 years working in Architecture. He has exhibited as part of Erratic North at the Architecture Fringe, and Nicolsons Kiosk, An Lanntair, in Summer 2021. More recently, Alex exhibited a collection of drawings and paintings at the Alder Gallery, Dunkeld, 2025. Alex lives and works on the Black Isle, Scotland.
